Dia de los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead,” is a Mexican cultural celebration that each year transforms the Old Mission San Luis Rey into an all-day community event. Photo ops include including mariachi bands, dancing groups, Aztec entertainers, elaborate altars and much more. A special highlight will be a custom low-rider display by the Por Siempre Car Club, showcasing traditional altars in their trunks commemorating loved ones who have passed. Check out http://mslrdiadelosmuertos.com/ for more info and a link to a map. Parking is $5. We will meet at 10:00 at the fountain located between the Mission and the stage. Expect there to be big crowds so no tripods. For any questions contact Dan Nougier at photoshoots@nc-photo.org or cell 619-884-1359.
