Announcement by Jeffery R. Brosbe
Jeffrey R. Brosbe will join two other photographers for an exhibition called Mind & Spirit at the Front Porch Gallery, 2903 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, CA. The show opens on March 6, 2010 with a reception for the artists from noon - 3 p.m. (hors d’ oeuvres & live music by Clay Colton from noon – 2 p.m.), and runs until April 24, 20010. He will also join 25 other artists who were juried into the Fine Art Festival VI at the San Diego Museum of Art’s Copley Auditorium in Balboa Park from March 12-14, 2010. The opening night reception is from 5-8:30 p.m. Friday. Hours Saturday are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. & Sunday from 11 am. To 5 p.m. The $10 entry fee ($20 Friday night but there will be hors d’ oeuvres & live music as you stroll through the festival) includes a $20 vouch towards the purchase of the art.
Announcement by Barbara Swanson and Diane Johnson
Diane Johnson and Barbara Swanson are having a joint photography show at the Mission Trails Regional Park. The show, titled "Magical Moments of Nature", runs from January 30 to February 26, 2010. The reception will be held on Sunday, February 14 from 1-4 pm. The show has 40 photographs focusing on nature, featuring flowers, wildlife and landscapes. The Perfect Frame has been in business for almost 25 years, and is now looking to expand the business to include the works of local artist’s. The store is located 2 doors away from Pronto’s Gourmet Market, near the downtown Carlsbad Post Office. The commission rate for sold works is a very small 20%, so the gallery offers a great opportunity to artist for exposure in the downtown Carlsbad area, at a very inexpensive cost.

Announcement by Felix J. Bonomo
“Women Hold Up Half The Sky: Women at Work in China”, photographic narratives by Felix Bonomo can be viewed at the CSU San Marcos Library’s “Context” exhibit this spring. The essay grew out of Bonomo’s many business trips to China over the past five years, when his photographic eye was drawn to images of Chinese women working at everything from nanny to construction worker to religious pilgrim to office and restaurant workers. A photo from this exhibit was recently named as one of the “Best of the Best” travel photos of 2009 by the Los Angeles Times.
