We want to encourage our members to make the NCPS website a valuable resource not just for ourselves, but also for people who may be interested in joining NCPS. Part of that involves sharing our photos. This page will give you the information you need in order to submit images to Member Galleries (see galleries tab) and Photo Shoot Galleries (see photo shoots tab), and will give you instruction on how to participate in Member Share at our general meetings.
Uploading to Photo Shoots (photo shoots tab):
Photo Shoots are a great way to meet fellow NCPS members and enjoy photography in the field at a variety of picturesque locations. If you have images from a Photo Shoot you'd like to share on our website, it is suggested that you size them with no dimension larger than 1024 pixels. The website automatically scales photos for you.
Images should be uploaded no later than midnight on the Friday prior to the general meeting. This will give the photo shoot coordinator time to select images and prepare a slide show for viewing at the meeting. No exceptions and no images should be sent to the photo shoot coordinator by any other means.
If you would like to make a suggestion about places to have Photo Shoots, or comment on a past photo shoot, please send an email to NCPS Photo Shoot.
Uploading to Your Member Gallery (galleries tab):
Any member in good standing may have a gallery on our site. Members may have portfolios within their gallery. If you have images to add to your gallery, it is suggested that you size them with no dimension larger than 1024 pixels. The website automatically scales photos for you. Subject matter should be appropriate for family viewing. Please remember that our website may be viewed by children, at libraries or in businesses. The Webmaster and other members of the VLT will use their discretion when reviewing images in the galleries on this website
We encourage you to create and share your gallery with family and friends. There is no limit to the number of images you can post to your gallery at this time
If you have a website to promote, click on the Contact Info tab and enter a proper URL (http://www.mywsebsite.com and not www.mywebsite.com) in the website box. Your URL will appear on the gallery index page following your mini-biography.
Uploading to Member Share:
Member Share is a club activity that was developed with the hope it would encourage members to gain knowledge of photography and share their experiences of making photographs. If you have images you'd like to share at our general meetings (limit two per member), it is suggested that you size them with no dimension larger than 1024 pixels. The website automatically scales photos for you.
Images are due by 6:30 PM the day before the meeting in order to give the projectionist time to gather all submissions and prepare the slideshow. No exceptions and no images should be sent to the projectionist by any other means.
